About Us

The Shop

Keiths Sports was established in 1976 by Keith Muir. He later married Heather and the work partnership was born. The family business specialises in hunting, shooting, fishing and outdoor gear.

Keith started the business originally in a small shop on Dundas Street West and rented the shop in Milton Street in 1984 and then bought the property in 1987. The business steadily grew from just one room selling mainly fishing tackle, and over the last 30 years has expanded into a three storey business, selling shooting equipment, fishing tackle, clothing and so much more.

The ground level is where you can find our extensive fishing tackle range, along with scopes, air rifles, shooting accessories, lamps, and much more.

The lower level offers space to display our huge range of rods (120+), including beach casters, spinning rods, quivertips, waggler rods, carp rods and fly rods. The vast majority of rods are assembled, so they can be felt for balance and action. We also display our larger fishing accessories, such as chairs, bivvies, seatboxes,  tripods, waders, reels and luggage.

The upper level consists of two gun rooms, displaying over 70 shotguns and rifles.

The Staff

Daniel Redling came and worked as a Saturday lad at the age of 14, joined the business when he left school at 16 and has been with us ever since. His main hobby is fishing and he can be found on a beach somewhere in pursuit of fish, irregardless of the weather.

Johnathon Bonas came to us from school, again at the age of 14 and joined full time at 16. Johno enjoys Carp fishing, shooting and working with his dog, and so has first hand experience of our stock and its uses.

Jim Freeman, our resident air rifle guru again came to us working originally on a Saturday, and now works four days a week. His love is of shooting and rebuilding many things that come in broken, and so we are confident of his ability to fix any problems you may have with your guns.

Heathers hobbies are swimming , cycling and walking, and she also loves baking.

Keith’s main hobby is certainly his soul band ‘Soul Survivors’, in which he plays the drums and can found practising most evenings. He also has a general love of music and the sport boxing also keeps his interest .
